Without knowing the specifics, it is difficult to say.

It got deleted because there were prolly a million "hows your thanksgiving" questions on the servers

If you asked how Thanksgiving went, Yahoo would consider that chit chat and you would be in violation of the community guidelines. Believe me, I've violated them often enough so I should know. I also think Yahoo should get rid of the no chit chat rule.
