My friend Alan just told me that he just shaved his pubes last night, he is 15 and i was wondering if it is normal for a male to shave down there???

Some of us trim, some of us don't. Those that don't trim call the guys that do gay.
From an aesthetic standpoint, I don't think any guy wants to look at woman in the buff and have visions of Don King in a leglock running through his head. Simillarly, I don't think any woman would like to look at a naked male and see the pope in the middle of a rain forest.
As to normal or not, who cares? Telling him to stop, or keep going, isn't going to change anything about him or likely his grooming habits. Let him be himself; if it bothers you, just ask him not to tell you about where he's shaving.

It's personal preference and personally I don't and never have; especially at age 15.
When I was your age (back in the '70s) pubic hair shaving wasn't considered normal....or at all in my high school. It definitely would have been noticed in the locker room and the word would spread. But times today are different and it appears from some of the answers that a percentage of guys age 15 do. Consider all the ramifications if you decide to join that club.

Its normal for guys of your age to experiment down below, and shaving pubic hair is something a lot of us have done at least once.
I personally didnt like it the one time I shaved, it was a bit itchy and looked terrible.

A man or boy can do whatever he wants down there as long as he doesn't cut IT off. Don't worry about your friend, when the hair starts growing back he will wish he had never done it and a lesson learned--everything serves a purpose.

some dudes shave, and some just 'mow the lawn'. Either is OK and acceptable, though more common is mowing.

some guys shave... some guys trim, some guys like it natural
it wont show you his sexual preference, or a mental disease man
i prefer to trim down below... besides, some girls find it exciting and cleaner

depends on the guy really lol.
i have and do sometimes i normaly just keep it short.
i mean think about it u go down on a girl u wanna be eating hair???? didn't think so, so why would they wanna be eating hair
