No love loss here. If losing Howard and the Liberals means losing all the lies, deceit and betrayal we've endured over the last 11 and a half years, bring it on! Bye bye Work Choices, bye bye pandering to the yanks' every whim and bye bye the Liberals' total control of the government.

Best thing that has happened to Australia... are let me see... for about 11 and 1/2 years. Anyone with an ounce of economic knowledge knows that the recession was a worldwide recession and Keating didn't control world markets. So to all the peanuts that keep going on and on about something that happened worldwide a long time ago. Its time to move on.

It is a great loss for all Australians that after the Happy Howard years we will face the Rocky Rudd years. PM Howard lifted out Australia of Paul Keatings recession. Rudd and the union bosses will bring back Paul Keatings recession; the recession what we had to have.

The loss of Federal control from the Liberal Party is a huge and dangerous loss to Australian history. State Labor total control and now Fedaral Labor control will be sad reading in the History books in the future. Unfortunately, in my opinion, many of the voters voting for Labor could have been the many younger ones who dont remember the past Labor years of Federal control and what the Liberal Party had to patch up and give us the debt free country we had. So sad to see it all fall back into the hands of a Labor Party with a huge Union Pedigree.

As an outsider I would say that part of Howard's legacy is that he made Australia for Australians and rejected the notion that foreigners could walk in and change the Australian way of life. My fear for you now is that politically you will move left and start to adopt the PC Liberal Policies of Europe thus flooding your Country with the dregs of other Societies. The great European Cities have been turned into ghettos and no go areas and it would be sad to see Sydney,Melbourne etc go down the same road.

Howard worked economic miracles for Australia over his 12 year term and pursued a close alliance with the US which has improved security in Asia. I read a good article this morning that claimed the impetus for Rudd was change for the sake of change, which is foolish.
