We should offer advice and expertise when requested, but I agree, the US needs to step back from meddling with other countries.

We have so much work to do here at home, in the first place.

Will Ron Paul get them to cut pork spending? Will he get them to quit paying farmers not to grow certain crops, while they harvest another.
An isolationist should be concerned with these problems.

I agree, though, let the world take care of themselves and lets build the most advanced country in the world on individual freedoms, oh wait, we are.

Why? Well because every leader that we have had in the White House gaines something from backing certain countries! They get higher stock prices for their holdings in Oil Companies, Wheat exports, etc. How many countries do we (the US) provide aid, military police actions, etc. that do not have any kind of resources that the the current, past or future President does not benefit financially from?
Does anyone really think that as long as we have an oil baron in the White House that the price of gas will go down? Why would he cut his own profits!

That is what George Bush basically said in the First Presidential debate in 2000.

Bush repeated 5 times in a row that he would never use force He would be a diplomatic president.

Bush condemned Clinton's Global military involvement 8 times saying He would reduce the size of he military and stop the Clinton Policy of promoting democracy around the world.

I'm saying this to point out the best layed plans of mice and men do not always work.

While a good part of me agrees with you.. I can also see the other side of the argument.. which has to go no further than Hitler to show what happens when the worlds powers step back and let countries "develop themselves" ... in the end.. there's got to be some happy medium of what we SHOULD be doing that I'd like to strive for. (which would be a lot less involved than we are now)

We've got so many issues in the US that should be addressed before we try to fix the rest of the world. I think it's good for us to help other countries when that help is WANTED and not wasted. If we are going to help other countries it should be for humanitarian reasons, not because we have an ulterior motive.

It's really a double edged sword.

we sit back ,and do nothing people hate us and think we don't care.
We stand up and help out,we are still hated.
thats the problem with being as great a country as we are, we are always hated ,help,or not..

Why should we? We like shoving it down other peoples throats, we don't like them anyway. Perfect practice, makes perfect bombing runs.
