I was given the assignment to invent something that hasn't been made before. It can't improve an already made invention, and i have to be able to build a prototype. My invention can't exist in any form. Any ideas?

Yes, if it's totally unique, not a logical extension of an existing technology, and useful; and, after doing a patent search, you find no one has filed a patent for it already...then make sure you apply for a patent before you show it to your prof. And when you get that patent and take the invention to market and become the next Bill Gates, please remember me in your will.

My point is this...a totally ridiculous AP assignment. But, then, maybe that's its purpose...to show just how rare and difficult invention can be.

But even so; I have an idea:

* Product wrapping that always lets legitimate owners to easily get into the new product they own without knives, scissors, or other devices, but keeps shoplifters from lifting the product illegally off the shelves. Since such a wrapping does not exist today, this is not an improvement on an existing item.

As this is a physics AP, you'll want to address the physics of such a wrap. Strength of materials is an applied physics you'll need to look into. Ergonomics, the physics of human machine interface (HMI), is another branch of physics. And, of course, structural engineering, to guide the construction of the easy secure wrap (there's a name for the new wrap) using the new material to create a user friendly HMI is nothing more than applied physics. [If you do this thing, the leaving me in your will still applies.]

take patent and modify it (patent.google.com) I guess your proyect is to apply physic principles so It does not have to be a market boom right?

Try something like:

Something for Babies:

something for Pets: Odor free cat bathroom

Something for Gardens

Something for the house: a table with many functions such as: can be a try and can be adjustable for a chair or couch height , work with one or two legs ....
also can be a chair that turns in a ironing table it folds and turn in to a chair

Try find somthing at www.skymall.com and improve it .
Do it as simple as you can and It will be better

If you ought to ask, you should not be doing it. Make certain that: - you wholly fully grasp the fabric; investigate the syllabus so you recognize precisely what subjects to hide and to what degree - there may be lots of functional paintings - there may be lots of hindrance fixing Carefully plan each and every lesson so that you identified what you're going to be doing and what the scholars are going to be doing. Under all instances, preclude simply 'lecturing' without a pupil pastime or involvement. Buy a publication on instructing technological know-how.
