depends on what kind of job you want, sure there are places to work down here.

Perhaps it's not very easy in Waterford as it would be in Cork or Limerick... anyway I think it would be a good idea to move South, rent is much cheaper than Dublin and there are a lot of jobs. Obviously it depends on what you're looking for. I suggest you contact a recruitment agency that has jobs nationwide (a lot of them do), so you can meet them in Dublin and they can tell you if they have anything coming up in the South.

Try the job agencies first. Lots of jobs going in restaurants at the moment, very casual, would at least keep the wolf from the door until you find something you like. Also, Dell are hiring.

If by "a months rent", you mean about $4000, that may be okay. After I was laid off this year, it took 3 months to find work. It depends on what you're willing to do. All the fast food restaurants are hiring. If you have a specific skill, you may want to check with careerbuilder.com before you just drive here. I'm in Fort Myers, Florida. You may want to check the Orlando area first. Rent is cheaper and there are more jobs than SW Florida.

Down South... as in US South?

There's work here... depends on what you do though. No place is perfect and in the summer, you will cook.
