more wealthy people have smaller families
better educated people have smaller families

since the world is exceeding its population limits (we are over 6.5 BILLION) and the effects are showing everywhere - pollution = increases in childhood cancers and asthema, deforestation, urban sprawl consuming farm land (how long till we eat cat and dog like in China?)

- even 2 kids is population growth since we are living longer...

my question is - HOW CAN WE GET DUMB/POOR PEOPLE TO STOP MULTIPLYING AND ADDING TO THE HUMAN OVERPOPULATION PROBLEM??

the reason why its a concern (and why people shouldnt have the right to have as many as they want) is because of human overpopulation - this is why smart people only have 1 or 2 kids.. they are smart enough to see the GLOBAL problems created by lots of kids...

Educated people have less children because they are busy with other things - like getting educated and working on their career. I don't think they have less children because they want to help out the environment or want to do their part to control the human population - it's just that they are too busy with other endeavors to have a bunch of kids. If you spend years in college or years working your way up the corporate ladder, you are going to think twice before dropping out of that to have children, and, if you do have kids, you may want to return to work eventually and so will not have kid after kid for years.
I don't think that 'dumb' people have lots of kids. I think that people who love kids and/or live in a culture where lots of kids are the norm have lots of kids. Like I was saying before, if you are well educated, you likely have well educated friends. And if your well educated friends are having no kids or just one or two kids you are likely to follow suit and do as those around you do. Likewise, if all of your buddies start having kids at 16 and end up having 8 or 10 kids, then that is 'normal' to you and you might follow suit.

The world can handle the population, but our ways of life are contributing to pollution issues. Cancer is kind of a random luck of the draw. If you live long enough, you will get cancer. Might hit you when you are 3, it might not hit you until you're 125 (and already dead). Because the population exponentially increases, so do the number of childhood cancers. More kids, more cancer.
China has put a limitation on the number of children a couple can have (one per couple) and things over there are not so great. So population control is not the answer. Finding new, more sustainable ways of living is the answer.

Well, I'm definitely poor, and since I have two children and we're talking about having a third in the next few years, I guess that makes me dumb too. The way I look at it is, I don't have money to go out and buy a big house and a Porsche, so I'll just stay home and pass the time by ****ing my husband.

And if I wanted the government to dictate to me how many kids I'm allowed to have, I'd move to China and become communist.

I agree with you in a way, but people have the right to have as many children as they want probably, regardless of the consequences to them and the world.
