Actually, the liberal party (FDP) members in germany are the most pro-american of all germans.Thats because the US has the most liberal economy of all western countries (practically no restrictions for big companies, they can do anything they want.)The term liberal is used in europe to describe a certain economical policy, not domestic policy.
And liberal comes from liberty, so I don't see how you come to think liberals hate freedom.

You have it backwards. Conservatives are the ones who hate freedom. Only a conservative would even think of amending the Constitution to discriminate against a minority or to make dissent a crime. If the Republicans ever succeed in passing either of those amendments, I would rather die in a new revolutionary war against them than live under that kind of tyranny.

I am a scientist (in renewable energies) and a US resident but moved back to Germany because of narrow minded people like you. My wife who is a qualified US citizen is also glad to be far away from people like you.
The US is sinking and the captain clearly told me he doesn´t need me aboard to help rescue it. That´s fine with me.
