♥ No, not at all. Why would it look bad on you? Tearing is not safe at all and having an episiotomy is for when the baby is too big and they fear the baby will tear you. When you aren't required to have one its just saying your baby is small enough to fit without the danger of tearing you. Good Luck!

Not all women tear or need an episiotomy when giving birth vaginally. I am not exactly sure what it means when you ask if it looks bad on you. If you are talking about physical looks, few people will see that area of your body (husband, doctor) and none of them will probably care what it looks like. If you mean does it look bad meaning that because you didn't have to have an episiotomy nor did you tear that some how makes you better at giving birth, it is a useless comparison. Every woman and every delivery is different. Whether you tear or don't, have an episiotomy or don't, have a c-section or deliver vaginally, the only things that really matter are is mom and baby doing OK? ADDED: Do you mean if you don't tear or need an episiotomy does it come across as looking like you have had a lot of sex? I sure hope not...my 4th baby was born when I was 38 years old and my husband and I had been married for 20 years. She popped right out after just one and 1/2 push (she would have come in 1 push, but they had to push her back in a bit and unwrap the umbilical cord from her neck). No tearing or episitomy at all. My husband is the only man I've ever had sex with and after 20 years of marriage and 3 other kids in the house, having a lot of sex hadn't been on the schedule for years (well, my husband tried to pencil it in every chance he got!). My husband and I have been married for 30 years now and our kids are 28, 26, 23, and 10 (this little surprise was conceived unexpectedly when I was on birth control pills for 11 years).

not at all has alot of women tear or need a epitosomy, its not thier fault if the baby is too big to come out or it gets stuck in the pelvice and its also better than loosing the baby due to this difficulty at the end of the day we have still just gone through all that pain, and if we tear or need a little help then so be it. we have still delivered our child, anyway why you asking a question like this? at the end of the day we have still given birth and done most of the hard work ourselfs

I think your question is about whether someone who has had a lot of sex, is less likely to tear or need an episiotomy... and the answer is not.
The baby's head and shoulders are larger than a honey dew melon, which is a million times smaller than the largest, ahem, penis.
Also, someone who takes lots of vitamin E and listens to their doctor on when they should STOP pushing mid push (waiting to the shoulders to turn, allows the skin of your cervix and vagina to stretch out just a bit more to avoid ripping) rarely tear.

The last thing you need to be worried about when giving birth is how you're going to look. Whether or not you tear is not just based on the size of your vagina, it's based mainly on how elastic your tissue is, the size of your baby, how you went into labor, what you're thinking, and how you're breathing.

I am just thinking that I hope I will be as lucky as you. That is one of my biggest fear...tearing. I don't think you look bad hon, and anyone who thinks that it looks bad is either jealous or ignorant. Pay them no mind.

Umm...nooo...it's meant to stretch, honey. That's the way your body is made. If you tear, or have to have an episiotomy, it just means that you were too small, or your baby was too big, or you didn't stretch enough to keep up, that's all.

Oh my gosh, no. Being "loose" is unrelated to squeezing out a BABY. It just means your skin is more elastic, or you're a little bigger, or any other number of normal reasons. Mostly, you're just lucky!

No its better for you, actually drs opt to not cut anymore, because your body heals better from a tear.
