i got the new acer extensa 5620 at bestbuy.com and I want to put another gig of ram. The only problem is that no where on the internet is EXTENSA5620 ram available, only ACER ASPIRE 5620.

Can i just buy the acer aspire ram? It's just weird that bestbuy has it listed as EXTENSA but the only laptop with model number 5620 is the aspire?

the box should tell you the type of ram you have pc3200 or whatever. if not look on the acer website and make sure your laptop can support that much ram.

Open the ram cover on your machine and take a look to see what kind of ram is installed. It should have a product number on it's label. You don't need to purchase "Acer" ram. Any ram that matches what is installed will work. If you are nervous about opening the machine, take it to a shop and let them do it. Most will install the ram if you purchase it from them.
