If your subscription is active with McAfee and you have paid for it you might as well keep it. Eventhough I agree that it has less than stellar performance. Oh, well...to the problem at hand I would suggest visiting Trend Micro Housecall to perform a free online malware/virus scan, which will remove the virus from your pc. You don't need to uninstall anything, just allow the program to install very small activeX files needed to run the scan.

I would also recommend that you have a dedicated malware remover on your pc at all times. Two good ones are AVG Antispyware Free and Spyware Doctor Starter Edition which is also free. These will protect you from malware that your current antivirus protection might overlook.

Good Luck!

If you have installed McAfee, what's the problem? You need to run it, if that's what you are going to use. Your question is very vague, so I don't know how much help we can give you.

I doubt very seriously if you know what the problem is. If you have virus protection already, then it ain't likely you got a virus.

Nevertheless, give us some symptoms and I'll try to help.;
