I would really like to go shopping for myself, but don't want to feel bad afterwards. So what if I went on a shopping spree for myself and handed my hubby the receipts and said that I considered it his Christmas present to me? Would that make me bad?

Why do you feel bad afterward? There are no regrets in life. To shop to satisfy yourself is your prerogative. If you feel bad because you feel you don't contribute enough to the relationship to be spending money then you could always make amends another way to justify your spending habits. Tit for tat, you know what your hubby likes. I believe a healthy relationship thrives on quid pro quo(this for that). It shows the other is not just thinking of themselves. I personally love it when my wife wants something so bad she'll do anything for it. We both end up happy.

Queen of Puppies!!!!

If I were your husband, I will be the most happiest man, if you do like what you have said. This makes me to satisfy all your wishes.

If I were there for each and every transaction and start auditing your purchases, I am sure you will never feel happy.

More over I am pretty sure that you would have spent more , if I were to follow and accompany for each and every purchase.

So it would not make you bad.

Moreover you will be given a sweet kiss for what all you have done. Loving greetings to you.

He might want to get you something special himself. Just hold off the shopping spree and if you are really daring just ask for a gift card to your favorite store.

Saw that on Regis and Kelly this morning, that's what Kelly Ripa does. She went out and bought shoes purses and clothes and handed the receipt to her hubby. Then he went out and boat a leather coat abd 2 suits and handed the receipt to her.

Well it's not the best way to go but I don't think it would make you "bad".I always pick my present and my bf buys it for me.I guess it's almost the same with what you suggested.

It would upset me if you did that, gifts are things a person likes that someone who cares for that person picks out, not that they pick out themselves.

Of course if you decided ahead of time that. that would be your gifts, then that would be fine, but not to make the choices and hand him the bills.

My wife would not do that, nor would I do that, but if she did, she'd pay the bills, or if I paid them, there would be no gifts for her under the tree.

I'm so glad we don't have to play the 'gotcha' game in our marriage.
