Of course it isn't, but then it wasn't meant to be. Expecting it to conform to scientific methodology would be silly.

The Bible from beginning to end is not scientific at all. Genesis and Revelation indicate that the sky is a solid dome a few miles above us that can roll up like a scroll. Some Greeks knew better than that. Aristarchus measured the distance to the moon as 240,000 miles, and that is close to modern knowledge. He found the sun is 5,000,000 miles away. That is far short of its actual distance but much closer than beleieving the sky is 15 miles or less above us.

1) No, it is *not* scientific. In other words, this was not arrived at objectively after experimentation and analysis of data. This does not mean that these verses are *untrue* or in disagreement with science. They are simply not scientific.

2) Obviously, they did *not* know "the science of creation". However, that does not mean that the knowledge of creation presented here is untrue. I find particularly compelling the order of animal creation:
1) sea creatures
2) flying creatures (normally translated birds, but equally well translated "flying insects")
3) land animals
4) man

It corresponds quite well with the theory of evolution.

Gen 1: 6-9 really doesn't chronicle the "science" of creation, all it really explains are the steps not the process behind them.

In the same way that the ancient Greeks, Romans, Egyptians, native Americans and every other culture has come up with some explanation of how we got here.

Nothing is scientific in Genesis. It is based on wishful thinking of presumed "chosen people".

There is nothing scientific about religion. Religion is a system based on BELIEFS, science is based on FACTS.

No...such comments are silly. Fully developed adults don't believe in legends and fairy tales, which is what all creation stories are.

I agree nothing about Genesis is scientific!! God spoke and it was. Only God can answer your question. Ask Him.

It doesn't have to be 'scientific' to be true.

If its God's Word then IT IS TRUE.

Science has made PLENTY of mistakes in the past and this is definitely one of those saces.
