You missed it. If, that is, you are talking about United States of America's version.

President Abraham Lincoln established it as the LAST Thursday in November, then it was changed during the Great Depression of the 1930s to the FOURTH Thursday in November. For some years, this makes the Christmas shopping season longer. Yippee! Even more tinsel and Christmas hype!

In the United States, it is the fourth Thursday in November (which was this past Thursday). In Canada, it's the second Monday in October (the same day as Columbus Day in the US).
