In binary it would be 1

I think you are asking if there is a 'largest number.' The answer to that is there isn't one. Whatever number you think of you can always add 1 to it and get a larger number.

In layman's terms we say an 'infinitely large number' when we are trying to express the largest number possible number we can think.

Mathematically the terms infinite and infinity are used.
Infinity is given the symbol oo (like an 8 on its side) but it is important to remember infinity is not a number.

Often we want to do some mathematics that requires as to think what happens as a number or quantity approaches infinity. We would say something like 'as x tends to infinity or x --> oo' Note that the ' tends to' is important. It is not the same as saying x = oo, because mathematically it can't since oo is not a number.

Sometimes people have wanted to consider a very large number and you might come across the terms ' googol and googolplex.' They are very very very large but of course there is always googolplex plus 1 which is even larger.

Oh, I forgot to add that 1 googol is 10^100 (1 with 100 zeros) and 1 googolplex is 10(^10)(^100) which is 1 woth a googol of zeros. The terms were invented by Milton Sirotta, a 9 year old boy, in 1938 (who was probably bored in the playground with plain old billions and trillions and thought this will impress my mates!)

There can never be a last number as you can always add one to it.
Mathematicians use the term infinity to represent the unknown numbers and it's symbol is like the number '8' but laying on it's side!

The largest number that has a commonly-known specific name is a "googleplex", which is a 1 followed by a googol zeros, where a "googol" is (a 1 followed by 100 zeros).

The highest known number with a name is Graham's Number, but it could not be written even if all the matter in the known Universe was turned into ink and paper to write it.

There is also infinity. There are an infinite number of different levels of infinity. If you counted forever, you would count aleph-null numbers. This is how many whole numbers there are. However, there is a higher infinity called aleph-one which can be thought of as the number of places or the number of numbers of any kind, and by extension there is a whole infinity of higher levels of infinity.

The biggest number you can think of, is not a real number - but it is a concept that is useful for mathematicians
It is called Infinity and you can have a positive infinity, for number bigger than zero and a negative infinity for numbers less than zero

it is represented by ∞
a symbol very much like a figure 8 on it's side

nicely, I genuinely see your predicament. i'm much less an atheist than i'm an agnostic, which of course is a posh way of asserting that i do no longer understand all of the solutions that I haven't any way of looking out definitively. With that for the duration of techniques, i will attempt to construct an answer to this question. the massive Bang concept substitute into frequently built with the help of examining the universe and then reversing reason and result to theorize how, while, and usually IF time had a commencing up. Like police investigating an twist of fate scene, scientists regarded on the instant state of the universe--positions, velocities, mass--and labored backward. Now, this is considerable to needless to say define what an theory is. concept is a be conscious that gets used loosely often times, like my concept that Iowa would not exist and my concept that Keanu Reeves is a robotic. needless to say, my "theories" lack clinical rigor, even nevertheless i will swear with my final breath that they are real. No, a actual concept desires help. Scientists are very adamant approximately helping their claims with sturdy arithmetic and observable data. a solid concept might desire to make certain predictions, and can be waiting to hold as much as see evaluation, i.e., a number of diverse study might desire to attain the comparable end as envisioned with the help of the thought. it is something that the massive Bang concept has. making use of the state of the universe, maximum each little thing may be envisioned till (lower back, working backward) each little thing substitute into contained interior of a mathematical component, a nil dimensional component of countless density. the hassle with it is that after it reaches that component, mathematically, the state of the universe before it is punctiliously unpredictable. no count if yet another universe existed before that and collapsed in a huge Crunch, or it substitute right into a component for an eternity before, the guidelines of physics and arithmetic in basic terms won't be able to tell. And so, scientists, in this occasion, use Occam's razor to decrease out any areas of the thought that exist before the massive Bang. If we mathematically haven't any way of understanding, any answer is mere hypothesis. i think of that the main complicated section in answering this question is the human techniques's lack of ability to wrap itself around the belief of infinity. As I suggested, i'm an agnostic, yet I firmly have faith that if there substitute into an emblem that could desire to symbolize God, it may be this: ?

This will be hard to explain, but there is no last number. Whatever number you can think of, you just add one to and that's a bigger number. There is a concept know as infinity, but don't let this fool you. It is not a "number" it is just an idea of a number that grows forever.

oh my god i always used to ask this question and come to think of it i never got and answer!
i was really confused about this as a child!
the biggest number i can think of is a mole which is 6x10 to the power of 23,think of how many grains of sand there are on a beach and thats a mole.
but a google is a MASSIVE number aswell but cant remember what it is something like a 10000 zero's after the one

bye!

in any number system you your not provided with a constraint on the number of digits in the number.. then it can go on forever...
So mathematicians, well i dont know about them so much but engineers(i'm and engineering student) and most of the scientists use a term to define that is endless.. To find out how much current will flow if the surface is endless.. the term's called Infinity.. its denoted by the symbol wat looks like an 8 sideways... oo something like that. but in the from of an 8....
Infinity is used to define something endless... infinite series.. infinite sequence... etc etc... its used in alot of places....
It can never be reached in maths. we assume it can never be reached by any amount of multiplications. So any HUGE number Multiplied my another huge number will have a definate result no matter what! but never infinity.
but infinity is used in calculations also.. its hard to explain...

I'm not sure what you're asking exactly, but I would say

Infinity, but that also means that you would never stop counting.
