A Processor or a Micro-processor, as the name implies, executes a set of codes fed into it.For an example, a simple calculator can also be called a computer that processes mathematical queries. In fact, the first computers were nothing but what we now call calculators. The processor is the core component of a computer.
What builds the processor ?
Have you ever heard the word "Integration" ? That is what happens here. A number of chips (ICs) make up a complete successful processor. Each chip is destined to perform a particular task. They are all inter-linked and co-ordinate together.
I ve just told you the basic what- is-whats of a processor. You need to know a lot more about it. If you have little idea (no offense) about electronics.I suggest you start reading from transistors, ICs and then the CPU.
Now about RAM:
I ve heard people say "Yo man, I ve souped up my RAM to one gig..yippee, it's so damn fast ".So,what the heck is RAM?
Random Access Memory is a storage device that can store pieces of data and lets the processor access data randomly. It is a volatile memory (data gets wiped off once system is powered down).Ram is something your computer uses to store values temporarily when you run an application. When you run too many applications and cram up the storage area of RAM, the system slows down. And that is actually when many people get to realise what a RAM does.Increasing your RAM size enhances the speed with which your processor accesses data.
I hope you ve gotten the hang of what I ve said so far.Feel free to ask me if you ve any more queries.cheers

The RAM is the memory for a computer. It holds the files and programs that you are currently running. That includes the instructions that processor needs to run the program.
The processor is the actual "brain" of the computer. It access the instructions in the memory and runs them. It is where 99% of the activity in the computer takes place.
The files and programs that you are NOT currently running are store on the third major hardware component, the hard drive. They wait there until you need them, then they are loaded into RAM for use by the processor.

Processor - It is the brain of the computer that perform the arithmetic calculation and to control how your program work.
RAM (Random Access memory) - Volatile memory that data will be erase once the computer switch off. It normally use to hold the data when the programs is running. The bigger the ram the better.

Your processor does all computational ("thinking") tasks. The RAM is like the CPU's notepad. Its where things get stored that are currently running
