You don't have to have another cesaerean if the incision they did in your abdomen was the low transverse cut.

Find a doctor or midwife who will support you and they will help you to try for a natural birth. It is called a Trial of Labor After Cesaerean or "VBAC" by some. To find out if you are a candidate, ask for your medical records from the first birth and give these to your doctor to look over. He or she can tell you if you are a good candidate for a natural birth.

My first baby was a surgery, but my next 2 were natural. You can do it.

Congratulations on expecting another blessing!

No, it depends on why you had the first caesarian. Were there medical reasons for it? If there were, then your doctor will talk it through with you. In the UK you usually have a section for number 3 if you've already had two that way. Not automatic for number 2 unless medically advised.
I've had 3 all for different reasons; breech baby; an elective second time around - which means it was my choice as I didn't want to risk losing a baby at term if I couldn't deliver safely; and a pre-term emergency section. I have to say, that the time the second two spent in SCBU gave me enough time to get back on my feet after the surgery and I was more able to cope because of it.

Sounds like you may have had a rough time the first time, but don't be afraid of caesareans, it can be the least traumatic for the baby and the safest option for both of you. Talk it through with your doctor as soon as possible, don't stress over it.

It depends on the reason why you had a C-section in the first place and if the condition exists again.

For example, if the baby was breech or had the cord wrapped around its neck before that probably won't happen again. If you have a condition that made it impossible for you to deliver the first time you probably will.

Most doctors today are moving away from always having a section since it is surgery, and only having a repeat if it is necessary.

Good luck, talk to your doctor about how you can increase your chances of delivering naturally.

hey. form my experiance and the information i was given was after my first child, i would most likely have a c section for the second, when i was pregnant with my second i voiced my views that i realy wanted to give birth naturally, so the doctor met me half way saying if i went in to labour (not over due) and not complications (natural all the way) then i wouldnt have one, but if for any reason they thought this may cause complications they would intervine, unfortunately i ended having a c section, so for my third child as soon as they found i was pregnant they book a c section with no choice, voice your veiws to you midwife and doctor and they will let you know what your circumstances are with having children and whats best for you and the baby, good luck.

Once you have a c-section that does not mean that u have to have one the next time. It depends on why you had the first one and what type of incision the doctor performed. Alot of women have a VBAC after having a c-section the first time.

You can deliver either way. But usually the doctor or hospital will require you to go through "counseling" or a meeting with a doctor about having a vaginal delivery after a C-section, because there are certain risks and precautions you have to take.

Some women I know, after having a c-section, have a V-BAC delivery. (Vaginal Birth After Cessarian) So it is possible to not have to have another section. You will need to consult with your doctor about this. Not all Dr.'s will do it. But I have heard that it has been done before. Good Luck!

I had my son by ceasarian and my doctor told me if I ever got pregnant again, I could still have natural birth. Since they started using the low belly horizontal incision, the wall of the uterus stays much stronger. But your doctor is the only one who can answer this since every case is different and you might have other conditions that would warrant the ceasarian.

Most ob/gyns do that, but you may be able to look around and find one who will let your wife have a vaginal birth after a c-section. It depends, of course, on why she had the c-section in the first place.

I read recently that after one baby is born from a cesearean, they do it again afterwards. I'm unsure if they do it just for the first baby after the cesearean or for every child you have after the cesearean. So you should ask your doctor. I hope mine isn't going to be born by cesearan because I know how painful recovery is [my cousin had one and my mother had one with me].
