Some people say all kinds of things about the Vietnamese people's revolution in August/September of 1945, that it was a "lucky triumph" has to be the least judgemental of them all.

But the victory was short-lived - the Viet Minh occupied Hanoi and made all the proclamations to a world (the British, the Chinese, the French and the Americans) that did not want to listen. First came the Chinese who looted Hanoi, then back came the French bent on a deadly rampage, finally expelling the Viet Minh in October.

My opinion is that it is truly sad when great nations such as France and the United States, who had their own revolutions, deny the revolutions of others out of political differences.
