Not at all. They have taught me how to withdraw and become defensive. Not really the way God built us, but it happens.

In ORDER to SURVIVE ... I HAD to be tough ... and that is for sure. The ONLY reason I LIVE and Breathe today is because I made the TOUGH decisions, the TOUGH choices, and took the path that led me to where I am today (and believe me, lots of hard work, experiences with destructive people (including a short disaster of a marriage to an abusive, violent sociopath), walking away from everything and starting all over again... and even the abuse I ENDURED from my own now young adult children (whom I raised as a Long Term Single Parent -- alone, with only MY Income because the ex was convicted of abuse).
(Note: Like the Song "Because of You" -- because it speaks to the horrors that all SURVIVORS of Abusers (and my own ex was Abusive, Violent, an Alcoholic, would disappear, and even abused my children -- and even after the Divorce -- he STILL Stalks, torments, steals my identity, burglarizes my HOME over and over (last time -- August 2006), etc etc etc), and their 2nd Generation Abusers (my own Adult Child WILLINGLY Helped my Ex BURGLARIZE my Home in August 2006 -- damaging it extensively in the process) ENDURE -- and HOW they have to CHANGE to LIVE ... and STAYING ALIVE is an Extreme "Challenge". I thank God every day for BILLS -- because that is the ONLY Reason I LIVE today -- I was out paying MY Bills when the Home was burglarized.)

there's been a few jerks where i've been forced to deal with. they taught me that there will always be those people who walk over you and take credit for your work. i've learned that it's better to speak up and not suffer in silence. i guess, you could say that they have toughen me up a little. i have a lot less patience with these types of people.

Yes!!!! I use to believe that when I met a guy perhaps God had brought him my way. I believed in destiny. Now I know love is just what you make of it and most of these guys don't want love. They just want to make woopi. So now there's a vacancy cause love don't live here anymore!

certainly, i have an abusive brother in law, once i saw him beat up his son it was a real eye opener for me that i should watch my own back and not depend on any man, i don't know why my sister hasn't divorced he's a jerk, a real a sshole

but jeez it wasn't necessary really; why all the harassment? why all the stupid pain? there's an easier way to pass through life. i don't think i deserved it but in a way i was way too unprotected and open. i like your question. lately , yep, i feel comfortable being tougher which is a first really.
the la la land was lovely but.... you know... keeping it real is better.

yes my ex-husband put my through 11 years of abuse, his drinking, his drug usage, 3 kids, and loosing who I was. But now I am greatful for the lessons of life and he has made me such a strong person, I don't even hate him anymore. Thats why I like the song....BECAUSE OF YOU.
