He was one of our first presidents who was elected because he looked good. That he was dumb as a rock was irrelevant to the electorate. If you would like to know more I would suggest the excellent biography below.

Oh, he was also our first black president.

He was a man who loved smoking cigars, drinking whiskey, and playing poker with the boys! He was a very handsome man who seemed to be as dumb as a box of rocks. He also loved his cute little girlfriends that would sneak into the White House. He sired at least one illegitimate child. He died in office under mysterious circumstances.

He was on a trip to Alaska and he had his cronies with him, many of whom had been appointed to federal offices. He stayed up late playing poker, went to kiss his wife goodnight, and was found dead in the morning.

The ship pulled into San Fransisco, and Mrs Harding had the body removed and immediately cremated. He was the only President who died in office who did NOT have a "State" funeral, because the body was gone! Mrs Harding was never questioned about what happened between the time he left "the boys" and the time he was found dead.

croatan is somewhat right, and, yes, he could be regarded as our first "black" President, as revealed in The Shadow Of Blooming Grove. However, I think Harding, had he lived to defend himself, wouldn't be as disrespected today in an historical viewpoint. First of all, he never really wanted to be President, and reluctant-ally accepted the nomination. He yearned for a world peace, and, like I said, had he lived, things may have been different.
