It didn't hurt me.
I dropped out of high school after the first week. Later, I took the GED tests (perfect scores on most sections), and went to a community college, where I was an honor student. After getting my associate's degree, I took the SAT (V: 800, M: 670 W: 740) and transferred into a fairly selective college. I'll finish my bachelor's degree this spring. I have a perfect GPA in my major, and just took the GRE (V: 800, Q:690.) Next year, grad school, and eventually, a PhD.

GEDs are not bad, just don't stop after you get one. Go to college immediately. Get some college under your belt and you can say you are in "College" now, not just a dropout with a GED. Once you have a degree, there is basically no difference.

It's not bad. My cousin calls it the "Good Enough Diploma"...lol.
But if you can, try to get your high school diploma because it can be a much better experience and good for your record.
Colleges will still take students with GEDs though.

not necessarily. but if all you have is a GED then it looks back on job aps. a high school diploma looks better. but if you wish to continue your education by attending college..then a GED doesnt matter
