Get in the car and ride.
You are a kid and until you are of age you don't have many options.
Trust the fact you will make new friends.
Also, trust the fact that in 20 years you will not even talk to any that you think are friends now.
Your MOM is Family the others are just passing in the night, mom will always be at your side.

People are people all over, some good, some not so good. You're nervous about leaving your comfort zone. That's understandable, but are you thinking about your mother's prospects? Maybe she's even thinking about yours. It's an idea worth exploring. Moving isn't the easiest thing to do, but sometimes we have to. If nothing else, it's a good experience, and just think, you'll be the new kid who can tell your new acquaintances what you want them to know about you. You can reinvent yourself, highlight your good points, or tell just enough to lend an air of mystery about your past. Have fun, and keep in touch with your old friends through email if you want.

Havent ya heard " iron walls do not make a prison and distances......" Our earth seems to have grown smaller because of faster means of communication and faster means of transportation, the internet, cellphones and what not.Now a days, world has grown into a global village. So why bother, if ye are shifting elsewhere.Think of new friends you will make, new places, new people etc.You can always remain in contact with yer ole friends.Dont be narrow minded.

It is good u are shifting. The only constant thing about life is that it keeps on changing. Nothing remains constant and this is the right time or age for u to learn this fact of life. Later on u will realize that changes in one's life is for good and u will soon start enjoying change.

You don't have to forget the wonderful friends you have in Virginia but you can always add more to your list from a new city.

And with internet and phone, one is never away from each other.
