Cocaine was first introduced as a prescription drug. My husband and I watched a program on the history channel about illegal drugs and how they came about. Cocaine, I belive, was used as a medicine before it became the illegal drug it is today.

First, sound like you friend buys cheap drugs. Second, some people who are naturally more high strung might not feel the affects like another. Third, if your dad was an addict then you have a 50/50 chance of having that addictive personality and you are defiantly gambling.

I don't really know for sure, but I think they were. That's why they carried around little "Snuff Boxes" And also why they always grew their little fingernail longer then the rest of the nails. They also where doing morphine, and heroin . You could get it over the counter ,so to speak. It wasn't illegal. LSD wasn't illegal either. You couldn't get arrested for having it! And I guess people where taking acid trips anywhere, any time! Just thinking about that today,Wow! Scarey thought! Byee

Not everyone was doing it, but there was a lot of it around. It was in stuff like coca cola and not considered a drug of choice.

Yeah, pretty much. You could buy it over the counter at the pharmacy. It was mixed into any number of "pick-me-up" drinks, including Coca-Cola.
