I was just wondering, if there's more to what I learned about what Newton or Aristotle thought. Were there other scientists who had different ideas?

Are you a time traveler .... from the past?

Basically two
1. Kepler's 3 Laws of orbital motion
2. Coriolis effect.
3. Einstein's theory of general relativity (GR)perhaps, but not for most cases so we can skip that.

There is definitely more than what Aristotle thought. Aristotle was wrong about everything physical. Newton's Theory of Gravity is sufficient to describe the motions of most satellites to measurable accuracy. However, the correct theory is Einstein's General Relativity, which is necessary to completely describe the orbit of Mercury, any orbit near a black hole or compact object, or any orbit to best accuracy.

Aside from Newton, Kepler's three laws can apply to satellite motion.
