They can only exist in an atom within their orbitals, where their quantum mechanical probability function waves constructively interfere.

it does .When a neutron breaks up it transforms into a proton and one electron.
So a Neutron at the nucleus of an atom is really composed of one proton mass + one electron.
And one Proton is made up of aprox almost two thousand electron masses.

However when an electron orbits the nucleus of the atom it experiences continual change of mass moving as an orbital ,since it continual ly changes in speed and direction. And relativity theory indicates a change in mass with velocity.

What keeps the electron in a certain distance from the Nucleus is relative to the electrostatic gravity and temperature of the atom.

I agree with the answer about electrons being confined within the realm of their probability distributions.

however maybe its reasonable to answer this in terms of centripetal force.
In the case of an electron, the positively charged nucleus provides the centrally directed centripetal force that causes the electrons to not dive into the nucleus, but orbit around it within certain orbitals defined by their (wavefunctions??)..

basically the sun at the centre of our solar system is pulling on our planet with a massive amount of gravitational force, but we dont plummet towards it, we orbit around it.

There are no electrons as we kow today. It is increased density of energy around the nucleus at some particular points which can be defined as a probability only.

i think the another reason for existing the electron out side the nucleus due to the lesser mass of electron having less value of gravitational force

Electrons are negativley charged and protons in the nucleus are positivley charged. so electrons repel the nucleus and orbit around it. And another reason is that so the elctrons in the outer most shell can combine with a Vaalent bond or Covalnet bond between other atoms!
