I'm thinking of a shot where each sheet typed or written is screwed into a ball and thrown away with more and more being trashed, the bin filling up.

I think there might've been a scene like that in "Adaptation" starring Nicholas Cage. His character was a screenplay writer, and I remember he was having trouble writing a script. So, it's a possibility.

Not to be confused with:

a comedy starring Randal McMurphy but older

I think there was a scene like that in Alex & Emma .. but I'm not positive as it's been awhile.
