Agnostics don't think a person can achieve ultimate knowledge as far as God.... ok, what is ultimate knowledge? Do they just mean proof of God or what? I lot of atheists say that they have enough doubt in God that they know God does not exist and are therefor not agnostic....
but what is knowledge by the agnostic terms?

kachao, if that's true, there should be plenty of people who are knowledgeable about the existence status of God, because is either is or isn't. So plenty of people should have ultimate knowledge as to weather or not God exists then, right?

Ultimate knowledge would be knowledge of everything there is to know.
If you think a human can know everything, you have a lot to learn.

When you are totally open to any information that comes your way, no matter what it is. Where you do not contrast and compare different information in order to come to a decision about the "right" and "wrong" information but rather look at all the information you have from a holistic perspective. So you can then understand at the same time that "There is no God" and "God exists." This is because both forms of belief are co-dependent on each other - you can only claim that something is "right" when you can also claim that something else is "wrong." Because there are so many different people in the world with all sorts of different personalities, it is guaranteed that there will be some people with belief in God, and other people with non-beleif in God. Even agnostics think that their "I don't know yet" perspective is the "correct" perspective to have about God, which requires people to exist that have the "incorrect" perspective (atheists and theists).

Ultimate Knowledge is the point where one cannot think of a question one cannot answer. This is similar to the Buddhist Enlightenment, when one became Enlightened they inherited an intricate knowledge of all things. There were still questions however so this is obviously a state less than this christan based theme of ultimate knowledge.

There isn't a human alive who has ultimate knowledge. Some claim and some preach that they do, but in the end there are more questions than answers. The limitations of the brain is that we know what we don't know, that is the 'Ultimate Knowledge'.

ultimate knowledge Happens when you realize that all questions have the exact same answer. It comes when you realize that all inquiry has the exact same purpose.
At this point things get a lot easier.
Problem is the situations happening around you in your life have an almost hypnotic effect. The try to confuse you and draw you back into the confusion.

if by ultimate knowledge you mean knowledge of scientific basis then this word is incorrect. science does not know any ultimate. it is ever expanding.
if you trace it religiously then those will tell you that the knowledge of God is the ultimate.
but there is one thing ultimate. the knowledge of you yourself. this knowledge is apart from the scientific knowledge i.e. the knowledge of your kidney, heart, lungs etc.
this knowledge is different from religious knowledge also. it is not about the god. it is about you. if you discover you, your pleasures, your goals, your achievements etc. then it will the ultimate knowledge.
you are at the centre. without you neither science nor religion would survive. therefore explore your self and get it.

When and if the Universe itself becomes aware it will have ultimate knowledge. I think it would require knowing every necessary connection between every event. Could awareness even exist at this level?

My Webster's defines "ultimate" as "beyond which it is possible to go."
Therefore, any man's "ultimate" knowledge would be that last evaluation of existence he makes in that split moment before death.

Ultimate knowledge...the meaning of existence?
To know why we are here, how we came, what we are going to become, and when we'll realize it.
