I tend not to answer if there is someone who answered it in more detail. Sometimes if there is something i could add i will. Unfortunatly it happens that Ppl just answers the question to gain points. I don't really like the points system. It causes aggrivation.

It sometimes also happens that you look at the question and answer it and by the time you have finished with all the details other ppl has answered with the correct details. So its not always the case that ppl answer even though the correct answer or info has been given.

Brilliant question though!!

I check to see if there are good questions that help the asker. If there is even one answer that serves the asker well, I star the question if it is interesting and move on. But, if I have more information than others have provided, I post an answer. Sometimes when there are good answers already, I will take that as an opportunity to offer a creative or fringe perspective. Oftentimes, the best "answer" for the asker is the sum of all the varied answers, like a fine soup, and I like to add something unique to that recipe.

I would still answer it, because everyone has a different perspective or view on things. Therefore although there might be several answers on the page which might be similar to mine, I would hope that my answer is unique to a some extent, and that someone could identify with it - even if I dont get the points.

Have already opted out of answering such questions on this site. Only would answer if I could just give a word of personalised encouragement or praise instead of great info.

I honestly wouldnt bother unless I had something more to add, only because at the same time you are typing your answer, 10 other people may be doing the same thing and it is sort of overkill......

Rambo,

I prefer to answer the question b'coz, that give me satisfaction on putting forth what I know. it teaches me the way to answer a question by critical thinking and rationalisation. each question open many doors to a pool of answers in the meaning of understanding and learning.

Shall I ask you the same question that you asked please??!!
