The only reason its illegal in the first place is because the goverment cant tax it. Nearly 70% of americans smoke it now as it is, Whens the last time you heard of someone commiting a crime, killing someone, or overdosing on marijauna? Yeah i though so.
It should be controlled like alcohol is controlled, because to an extent it does effect your brains functions, I think it should be legal to buy at age 18 but you cannot drive while your under the influence of marijuana.

The government costs and long term social damage required for keeping marijuana illegal seem to be worse than any possible costs and social damage for legalizing it.
I say yeah, lets try legalizing it and spend less on prisons, the DEA, FBI and police while paying off the national dept with a pot tax. Then get the FDA to inspect all the marijuana and make sure the product is quality. No stems, seeds, oregano, fillers ect. No dealing with greedy, sleazy dealers.
In the long run everybody wins.

Could and should be, if there was an age limit set it at 19+ it's a natural herb that when set on fire makes you love you're life. Alcohol is one drug that can kill you and other people. When you find someone who has died from marijuana then the government can talk about why it should be illegal.

Every year, hundreds of millions of tax-payer's dollars goes into arresting and trying people in marijuana-related offenses, while real criminals are out committing crimes. Also, marijuana is an excellent cash crop which could produce great revenue for investors. Every year tobbacco and alcohol kill hundereds of thousands. Marijuana? 0... I can't understand why anyone would criminalize marijuana while drunks kill innocent people in car accidents every day. In fact, 700,000 U.S. citizens are arrested every year on marijuana related charges, when policemen could be doing something legitimate. You decide....

I'd vote for legalization, with taxation, similar to alcohol and tobacco taxes. Govt. is missing out on a huge amount of revenue.

It should be legalized, unfortunately we won't be alive to see it. Smoking Cigarettes should be illegal, but we are too ignorant to realize this.
