Of course I'm talking to Americans I'm kinda jealous and kinda not. I know if some big meat head came in and threatened me and my family I would like to have a gun in the house just in case. But yet at the same time guns kill people and it would turn angry teenagers into a bunch of killers if we allowed guns here in Australia so don't bother pointing that out.

It depends on where you live, many states do not require any form of registration or licensing, but others do. If you are buying the gun from a licensed dealer, you must show ID with your physical address, and submit to an instant background check, this is federal law.

Im an Aussie too - i would never want to own a gun. I can see the point, for family protection as you said, but theres too much risk of an accident, especially with kids around. Australia rocks - dont be jealous!!

None - they are expensive and my guv won't ever allow me to own one. I never feel the urge to point it at someone - let alone fire it. I never visit places where I would be threatened. I dont have the guts. I am dead scared of conflicts that might need a gun to resolve.

i have two 380s. one is regular size and one is really small. i keep them hidden and the ammo is nowhere the kids would ever think of looking. you have to be careful. you are right, pissed off kid and a gun is a bad combo. both have trigger locks and like i said, ammo is not easily accessable by any kids.

I keep it locked in my dad's gun cabinet.
I use it for deer hunting, and that's it.
