On Thurday I arrive in London at about 6pm. I can get the train to Waterloo or coach to Victoria coach station.

I am attending a party at the building of Holland and Holland (Bruton Road- or street), postcode W1J 6HH. Would I be better off on the coach or train, and how far is either from Holland and Holland's address? Walking distance, taxi or tube? How long would the jouney take and, if by taxi, roughly how much?

Thanks very much in advance.

Go by train to Waterloo - a coach might get delayed by traffic congestion. From Waterloo take the Jubilee Line to Bond Street, or its a great walk through central London; cross the Thames across Waterloo Bridge; turn left along the Strand and walk via Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus and Piccadilly to New Bond Street. (Bruton Street runs from New Bond Street/Bond Street to Berkley Square.

For me,seeing as your a stranger to the area would be to get a London Black Taxi ( although they re not all black) There are ranks at both terminals. I would guesstimate the fare to be around £8 either way. I certainly would`nt want to walk it as somebody suggested.. Bruton St runs between Bond St & Berkeley Squ and is about 100 yds long. Have a good time,
The nearest Tube stop is Green Park on the Piccadilly Line

will help you.. as for public transport... get an oyster card.. £3 or you will pay a lot more cash wise.

other sites you might find handy are www.multimap.com

wwww.theaa.com (route planner)

but tfl is a good place to start =)

taxi's.. depends.. tricky. as proper ones depend on the traffic..

it says it takes 30-40 minutes by public transport.. if you look it up yaself..

so cab is far from cheap.. even if its like a 15 minute drive.

on tfl site .. or google earth.. postcode for victoria CS is

SW1W 9TP
so you can show your route.. takes 30 minutes..

SW1W 9TP
Walk to Grosvenor Gardens
Average journey time: 9 mins

SW1W 9TP

Grosvenor Gardens Stop: Q
Take the Route Bus 82 towards North Finchley/Tally Ho Co
or Route Bus 73 towards Tottenham T.Hall/Seven Sisters
or Route Bus 148 towards Shepherds Bush Central Ln Stn
or Route Bus 436 towards Eastbourne Terrace
or Route Bus 36 towards Queens Park Station/The Falcon
