What measures should be taken to correct this distortion of the political process?

Change the Channel.
Our laws allow someone to buy a television network and call it whatever they like. We can't help it that some Australian Mega billionaire bought one and decided to call it news so he could misinform millions of Americans. We could be more informed and come to the realization that just because a channel calls it self a news network does not automatically grant it credibility. But aside from that the best we can do is turn the television to a different channel or better yet turn the silly thing off altogether and read a book.
Rupert Murdoch can afford to run a continuous political add if he wants too. He would like to control our country because he doesn't have quite enough money to buy it out right. The choice to watch his channel is ours however and no matter how much money he has, he cannot force us to watch his propaganda.

Fox is a cable news channel and can do what it wants including broadcasting a 24 hour a day infomercial for the man in the moon. Any attempt to silence them will do far more harm than good. The people who watch Fox do so for amusement or because they are already committed believers, so they really do not have much effect on public opinion, they just provide their listeners with talking points.

I only started watching Fox News because you leftist paranoids ranted about it so much. After 5 days I can only say it appears no different than CNN, ABC, etc. They have talk shows, news programs etc. Of course unlike you, I have a life and cannot sit there 24/7 waiting for a thing that will get my dander up. Go watch a movie, take a walk in the woods. Go to a museum. LIFE, it's calling.

None, because the distortion will never be completely corrected.

Then again I don't watch the "news" on TV anymore, it is just ridiculous.

Fox "News" Should not be allowed to call what there do "News" They should have to change there name to"The republican Fox Report" These Fox reports are the desperate cries of a dieing Republican party. It is no big secret that Dick & Bush sacrificed the G.O.P. to push there personal agendas and make there "base" and them selves filthy rich. They hardly made an attempt to hide all there dirty deals. Besides Bush thinks he was put in office to usser in Armageddon. R.I.P. G.O.P.!

When the New York Times comes out and endorses a candidate and every other so called "news"paper in the U.S. I hope you come out of the closet again but I doubt you will since Gannet news organization are extreme leftist and would back Hugo Chavez for president if he ran.

You should probably confine your television viewing to the channels that better reflect your own twisted view and avoid watching Fox News. It's obvious that you can't handle the truth.
