i'm not afraid to have a baby or have a handicapped baby at all. i'm just more afraid of losing my baby if i was to fall pregnant because last time i fell pregnant, i miscarried. i don't ever want to have to go through that again. i couldn't handle giving birth to a stillborn baby either. so to those women out there who have done so, you have so much courage and strenght to carry on with everyday life.

you sound pessimistic!! when i was younger i was scared as hell that i prefered not getting married so i won't get pregnant but i fell in love with my husband and he wanted the baby so bad (more than i did). now I'm pregnant (14 week, first baby). i thought like that i must be pregnant as this is the life. i mean we women at the end no matter what we had in our life we will get married and have babies at the end......that's how the universe works.
I'm scard too but what can i do?!!! i won't keep a constant state and won't get pregnant just because of that. I'm not the only women who got pregnant plus I'm strong and love challenging. as far as weight is normal.... you will be holding somebody else inside so what we expect and you put off that weight eventually.
so plan to get pregnant as sometimes it takes time to conceive .some women don't get pregnant from the first place and invest in your time unless you got old and it will be hard and dangerous and chances of having a baby with abnormalities higher than when you still young.
as having a baby with some abnormalities wise, i guess this is the god's will and be positive and try again. i would do that.
sorry for my bad English... not native English speaker!!!!!!!

its a part of life and it musnt be so bad if everyone does and go back for more, personally being pregnant (im 19 weeks) is the best thing that has ever happened to me i feel like i am the only person that has ever done it before its funny it gives you meaning and i have always wanted to become a mother and i wish he/she was here already i cant wait until i can hold him/her, i recommend it!! basically you cant worry about everything if you did you would never leave the house, you have to trust in your body and yourself and nature, i truly believe that what will be will be, some things are meant to be, the things you mentioned are so slim the odds are in our favour, i guess we all hear the bad stuff more than we hear the good stuff

Even though im young I used to think that..
My worst though was vomiting (i havent since i was a kid) and blood tests (never had one)
But once your pregnant its like this wave or maternal happiness and love comes over you.. and nothing else matters. Pain, symptoms.. its like.. all ok because you have this life growing inside you.
This baby .. ive never felt a love like i have for this child.
Dont let being afraid turn you off..
Child bearin is natural process... wonderful and fullfill and its what our bodys are made for..
:) i used to be afraid.. and still am a little of labour. but in the end.. anything is worth having this baby in my arms

ok well if my baby iam carrying now was born like that well its a part of life me and my partner would have to deal with. yes iam scared of pain, I'm not good with handling it at all(unlike my mum, shes had 9 kids now). when i first found out i was pregnant i was scared of being big, putting on weight, being moody about everything but now my fear has gone from that and since Ive been pregnant Ive looked at it as a road of life and its another life you are carrying. its a wonderful experience and i enjoy every minute of it, even tho my baby makes me sick sometimes and makes me moody i still love this pregnancy and this baby.

yah...i thought like you...then i found out i was pregnant (in october)and got SOOOOOOOOO scared and FREAKED out. but then after a little time passed i started talking to a lot of girls and women who have already had kids...and they told me not to worry its not as bad as i thought. and you know what, so far it isnt....the nausea DOES suck though..but its only like i have heart burn. and hey when giving birth you can just ask for meds my mom said it helped her so much and it hardly hurt. im so afraid of pain but now im just so happy the fear is going away...and about the down syndrome thing...if i had a baby with down syndrome or was mentally or physically handicapped...i wouldn't mind..i'd be happy as heck because i love special needs children! :D

I think always think the worst of everything. I have 1 kid... and
I'm really scared of everything! I was scared when I was pregnant.
Very scared. The WHOLE time!! BUT when I had my son...
It was not as bad as I thought it would be! So I don't think you
should worry so much. If I can do it... you can too! =]

I'm pregnant with my second and never had such severe worries. Go read books and learn everything you can. If you are young enough, not 40 or older, you shouldn't worry so much.

you are stressing to much, when you fall pregnant you will get tested for types of diseases and so will your unborn baby.If you want a baby so bad you wont matter how much it hurts or anything else because it will all be worth it in the end:)
goodluck, *babydust* to you:)
