A feeling of braveness to be good. All these feelings contribute in the increase of feeling powerful, the will to power, power itself in man. Love of danger and strife so long as it has a good purpose. It makes you overcome fear and there shows power within a person. You have to leave happiness to the greatest number before yourself. That is expressing power over the interest of oneself.

Thanks for asking. Have a great day!

Power is a matter of perspective. Everyone has a different definition of what power really is in terms of society. I suppose the more people say that you are the definition of power, the more power you have. That is, power is not money, but influence. The more people you have influence over, the more power you have. To achieve the influence, you have to have what others want. Some people want money. If you have lots of money, then you have influence over those people. Some people want to be popular. If you are popular, than you have influence over them. Some people are seeking answers to life's impossible questions. If you have the answers to those questions, you have influence over those people. Some people seek wisdom. If you have wisdom, those people will follow you. Some people seek fame, if you are famous, then they will admire you. The more desirable things or traits that you have, the more influencial you are. The more influencial you are, the more power you have over the people. Some people say that the key to achieving ultimate power is to obtain lots of money first then do everything else. But this is not true. If you focus on money first, you will be respected, but you will not be liked, loved, or trusted. True power comes from having the respect, friendship, love, and trust of the people. Going for the money first will only give you respect if that. Sure, maybe a few people will be your friends, but the general population will not like you at all. Friendship, love, and trust cannot truly be bought. It is only obtainable when you are ready to obtain it. Only by sacrificing your own wellbeing for the good of the people, will you start to earn the admiration of the people. Once people admire you, they will want to help you achieve your goals because they will believe that your goals will help better themselves. Once they want to help you, all you have to do is show them how to help and they will follow. By being the good, honorable, trustworthy person, everything you want will come to you. You do not have to chase it. If people see you as being a great leader, they will want you to lead them and they will put you in the position to lead. Only then will you have true power. You will become unstoppable because the people don't want to stop you. As long as you use the power for the good of the people, you will never lose it.

Power is having influence over people, which is obtained by either authority (ruler or government official) or extreme wealth (likes of Bill Gates). A third way to power is knowledge or expertise. The truism,"Knowledge is power" indeed holds true when a person holds authority over a field of knowledge via expertise. With the given three sources of power, there is usually respect from a threshold of the population to keep them as incumbents of that power. Our contemporary society places a high value on money and fame. While celebrity status alone affords no power, money usually means power to purchase, power of mobility, and other conveniences.

Some have power by virtue of birth and others have more access to achieving a state of power due to having more means/resources that were garnered by predecessors. While there is a certain threshold of resources necessary to obtain a seat of power, pure lack of resources does not stop visionaries. Such visionaries have a certain psychological fortitude that is usually grounded by firm belief in justice, peace, or the like. These beliefs give one power, however indirect, if one would wield and translate them to action.

The visionary power is accessible to anyone; however, only a few are brave enough to execute their visions. When there is enough support, the visionary should be ultimately unstoppable. They come from all classes, as does seekers of knowledge. Power through extreme wealth and status usually are easily accessible to the creme de la creme. While extreme wealths achieved by way of business ventures exist, they usually started with some means and networks.

Yes. Wealthy people often make donations to political campaigns or parties, which gives them influence with the elected officials. Wealthy people can also afford to get their own political campaigns off the ground, and have the connections to get elected. Being an elected official brings power. They also hold sway with businesses, because of the money they spend there. This often gets them preferential treatment--even discounts. There have been several articles written about how much stuff wealthy people get for free. Think of all the clothing, cosmetics, jewelry, and other stuff celebs get for free in award ceremony gift bags or from designers that want to win the stars as clients.

Technically speaking power is the rate at which energy is expended.

So a powerful person is one who can direct large amounts of energy.

Personal Power arises from will and intellect. You must desire something, then have intelligence to make it happen.

A person becomes powerful by repeatedly exercising their will and intellect.

Real power is power over other people which is not derived from money or position because these tools are transient possessions...... in my view the source of real power is emotional intelligence.

The ability to lead, understand, and teach - without any dogma or threats of "burning in hell." This makes a person wise, and those s/he teaches, just as wise if not more.
