i have irregular periods say i have a gap of ard 40 to 45 days between my periods and at times 28..... it keeps on varying between the two.....

now the problem is that the last time my periods started was OCT 4th 2007 and it is the 1st time it took so long.... i am not pregnant because i had done home pregnancy test twice and it showed negative....... yes i have gained weight after my last periods for which i have now started o go for a walk every day for an hour.....

many people are trying to scare me saying that i have some serious problem and have to consult a doctor immediately but i and my husband feel it is because of my weight but when others try to scare me... frankly i break down and cry...... please tell me is something wrong with me? will i have difficulty to conceive?

i dont have any other problems regarding it ... if it is for the pain part... i have pain on the first day of my mensus then things are as usual.....

I have not had a period for a few months.
For some reason I think I'm pregnant. So I'm kind
of in the same situation as you are.
Anyway, I don't think anything is wrong with you
I also have irregular periods. Sucks I know...
I don't think you should worry though. If your period
don't start within a month then maybe you should
go see a doctor to see if your pregnant. You never know.
Sometimes the tests can be wrong. Get a blood test.
I wish there was someway I can talk to you on this thing but
I dont know how haha. Anyway, I hope this helps you out
... at least a little.

Hi, I know your fear..... i went several months with out my periods when I was a younger teenager. I have NEVER had regular periods. From the time I was 25 until a year ago, I NEVER had a period. 8 LONG Years. i was Diagnosed with PCOS. Poly cystic Ovarian Syndrome. This too may be your case. Epically if you have been picking up weight... As that is a sigh and often a symptom of PCOS. Now, you may not have PCOS, But if you do and you are TTC, you need to have it checked. because chances are you will have to go on some kind of Infertility drug.... PCOS, is hard when TTC, but Very manageable if you are not TTC. PSOC is not curable, but it is Treatable...... I would go to my OB/GYN and have some lab works up,s and have a vaginal ultrasound... Many times, an Ultrasound is all a Dr will need to know for sure... Best Of Luck, And don't be worrying !!!|!

I too had irregular periods that started when I was on Depo-provera. I once had it for 6 months straight 24/7 and they were unable to stop it with hormone pills. We were TTC for 2+ years.

I would speak with your doctor. It could be PCOS. Which is what I think I had, but they couldn't confirm it with ultrasounds. It could also be a thyroid problem.

What helped conceive was getting a saliva fertility microscope test to know when my fertile days were as well as taking FertilAide vitamins. With that we concieved in 2 months! And that was after numerous inconclusive infertility tests.

Fear won't help you, let it go. It's not unusual for women's periods to be irregular. Sometimes it's because of stress. Others can be because of illness, even minor illnesses can affect a woman's regularity. There are a lot of things that can make a woman's periods irregular, so until the doctor says what's going on- even if that's just irregularity- don't "buy trouble."

I to have irregular periods, my periods actually stopped coming around for three years. Thanks to God, they are back now but I just wanted to say the fact that you are having periods at all is still good. Please don't worry about what others say, take it from me who had now period for three years :) Ok yes it may be hard to find out when you are ovulating but not really because there are other ways to find out when you are ovulating, such as basal thermometers or looking for a sticky mucuos, etc.
My prayers are with you!
