annoying sound to remind you....and that is not the only device that has simliar annoying traits!!! Is technology being intrusive to the extent of governing US rather than we governing IT?

Thanks E, now I have another reason why I don't have or want a cell, It is annoying! I am not lost without it. I like my privacy too much to make it possible for others to reach me no matter where I am. Since I don't need one for work then I don't need one.

Nope -thats simply the phone transmitting back to the base station its location! You can often hear it on the car radio whilst driving too. Its merely a method of tracking the phone by the BTS.

Put it on silent, then it won't annoy you. Technology is definately intrusive and yes I believe it is governing us. But without it, we are lost.
