He seems prone to bad luck but apologises so easily. I think he is a solid individual and not likely to be able to sell us a bad product like Tony did. It will be a shame to lose him in a general election. But he is likely to lose give the suave nature of Cameron and our love for everything dapper.

No - it's not lack of spin. 'Spin' is a method of management, in particular to do with the media.

What Brown does lack is people management skills. People management skills falls into two key areas - your immediate people and the wider group of people who can influence, or on whom your are dependent. This wider group incorporates the media and the civil service.

The Media were dealt with by spin in Blairs era, but what is required is effective management - this does not have to be done by spin, but management nonetheless has to be completed - think of the Royal Family - the do not manage the media by spin - but they do have effective media management techniques. Blair realised very early that you have to manage the press very efficiently, and the 'spin-doctoring' was his/campbell's way of doing this.

The other group of people you need to have on your side is the civil service - Blair had a very well oiled machine. Brown does not appear to understand the cvil service: it is they, in truth, who actually 'run' government. The civil service can allow leaks, or protect from leaks. It is the civil service who do the day to day operations on a small and large scale - it is the civil service who provide the advice and guidance.

Brown has isolated himself from the civil service, and he has isolated himself from the media. He is trying to run the country via a small 'clique', and it is not working. Solid bloke he may be, but a sophisticated man-manager he is not, and that is one of his key failings. Politics is ALL about people, and he fails to realise that.

Napoleon said that he wanted lucky Generals. We need lucky Prime Ministers, in Gordon Brown the clown we have not got a lucky Prime Minister and therefore he must go, before his bad luck takes us all down with him

Gordon Brown has plenty of spin. He is always going round in circles, but he will not listen to the electorate, who are, in theory, his master.
