i asked a question this morning about best spyware and decided to go with spybot the free version ...i have been trying to down load it, but it keeps saying to get a registration number i have to pay money..how come if its supposed to be free it wont let me go any further until i pay up , and its saying my laptop is infected with parasites etc im in uk .... thanks for any advice ..... cas

What are saying?
The maker is not going to bother making Spybot a paid version.
You must have ended up in the wrong website. Did someone recommend the website where you were asked to pay or did Google show the website.
Note:
There is a software that has the same engine as Spybot's and it's paid, maybe you tried downloading that.

Avg Spyware remover is the best one out of all the anti-virus softwares I have used so far. Google for Free Avg and download it.

That sounds like a rogue edition of Spybot - get rid of it.
Use Filehippo or snapfiles for all your downloads
