Electric or acoustic, its still a shape of a pear. Just wondering why not square, round or something?

The "pear" shape is for comfort, I believe, especially if you play while sitting down. There are many shapes for guitars. A Flying "V", for example. Gene Simmons (of KISS) has played a bass shaped like a huge axe. The Misfits, if I remember correctly, had guitars shaped like coffins (rectangular). Most conventional guitars are "pear" shaped because they're just more comfortable to play.

i guess it's like that so you put it on your knee and play. some rock groups from the 80s had some different looking guitars, but that didn't hold. much like their hair style
