I'm no fan of New England. But I am a fan of great football players. How is Brady overated?? 11 games, 11 wins,284 for 392, 72.4% completion percentage, 3439 yds, 39TD, 127.4 QB rating is overated??? I think some people need to look up the definition overated in the dictionary.

Granted, the 11 games/11wins is a team effort. But seriously, quit whining. The guys a great player. If you don't like him, thats fine. But people who try to belittle the obvious accomplishments of athletes they don't like, really need to grow up.

----Granted he only threw one touchdown, but he also threw for 380 yds. And every great quarterback has to have at least a good team around them to accomplish anything.

And Donovan McNabb is nothing special these days.

The truth is that Brady takes what he is given and makes the best of it. a true sign of greatness.

Ok my bad on that one. And, you're right, I should get a dictionary too, overrated. oops.

dlyle -- I never said Peyton Manning wasn't better. This question wasn;t about Peyton Manning, or any other QB for that matter other than Brady. It's about there being documented proof that Brady is a great QB, and him not getting credit for it.

Terry C thanks for the help..but not exactly what I am looking for. I just dont get how someone with his numbers can be considered overrated and not one of the best. Oh well.

Some of these answers are ridiculous. I can't believe that some people are actually denying that Brady is a great QB. Of course a QB has to have a great OL, but all winning QB's have. Troy Aikman? Joe Montana? Those are just two HoF QB's that had great OL. By the logic of some of these responders, they should be considered overrated as well, b/c it was not possible w/o them. I might be wrong here, but I think Tom Brady also has(or is close to) the season record for game winning drives. By the way, both of those examples just happened to have HoF recievers also. The simple fact is, Tom Brady has the ability to stay calm in the pocket, analyze the defense, check down through his recievers, and deliver the ball accurately better than anyone in the league right now. And before the Indy fans jump down my throat, I know Peyton has done it well for a more consistent time, but right now Tom Brady is playing better than any QB in the league. That's my two cents.

lol, gotta love a couple of these answers!

"take away Moss and he wouldn't be that good"... lol
Yeah, he's only won 3 Super Bowls without Moss.

btw, Joe Montana really sucked....he was just lucky he had Jerry Rice....lol

The real problem is that Brady makes it look so easy that it's a natural thing to think that any QB could step in and do what he does....but the thing that makes Brady one of the two best QBs in the game right now is that he is able to process information on the field better than any other QB out there, with the possible exception of Manning. That's the thing people don't understand about the QB position. They'll look at his offensive line, or they'll look at Randy Moss, and say "any QB can do that"... well, Moss has played for a lot of QBs, but who's ever won anything with him? No one, except Brady.

Brady finds his 2nd, 3rd and 4th options better than anyone, and just as well as Manning does.

Brady still put up good numbers against the Eagles, even though his receivers had a lot of drops....and I mean a LOT of drops... Stallworth, Moss, all of them, dropped easy passes... that's another thing Brady does better than anyone, is that he throws a ball that's easy to catch... again, most fans don't know enough about the game to realize that.... they just hate Brady and they hate the Patriots so much, that it completely short circuits their analytical abilities.

I mean, look at the game against the Eagles last night... A J Feeley played a great game, numbers wise...especially after that opening interception...which would have knocked a lot of NFL teams completely out of that game... but A J hung in there and kept his team in it... and yet, at the end, he threw two picks in the final 4 minutes... that's the kind of thing Brady doesn't do out there....

Now, if you want to talk about overrated QB's, let's talk about Brett Favre... spent his entire career in the worst division in NFL history... wins ONE Super Bowl, against a lousy New England team that had no business even being there... he lost a HOME playoff game to MIchael Vick, the ONLY home playoff loss in Packers history...he lost a crucial playoff game to the Eagles during a period when the Eagles couldn't win the big one... and people call him the greatest QB of all time??

If something, this season confirmed how stable Brady is. With a greater physically powerful team (greater stable RBs, and a proper new MLB in Mayo) the Pats went 11-5. They have been 18-a million final 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. although there have been different injuries, the biggest distinction replaced into Brady, and his skill to throw the long ball as nicely by using fact the fast bypass. if Cassell had Brady's arm for the long bypass, the Pats might have been interior the playoffs for specific, and randy Moss might have in all threat led the league in TD passes back

brady had great numbers with terrible wr's this is the first year he has had wr's the same level of talent as peyton manning. imagine what brady's stats would be if he had moss and welker for 4 years like manning has had harrison and wayne.

if anyone is 'overrated' its manning. brady was winning SB's with david patten and troy brown. manning has 1 SB in 7 years with players like harrison, wayne, edge james, dallas clark, etc

Tom Brady is just an average player who benefits from all the great players around him...he has the best line in the game that gives him alllll day to throw and now he has amazing receivers so he puts up big time numbers....hes good but he isnt great, NEVER WILL BE.....mcnabb, anderson, palmer, bulger, manning, farve are alllllll way better athletes and quarterbacks....realize the truth

It's a team game. Have him trade places with any other QB in the league and then ask yourself if this question would have to be asked.

I don't have a problem saying that he is good. Its those of whom are overrating him that I have any contention with.

Uh...He NOT overrated...Colts fans would have you think that way...

Lets see...3 Super Bowls in 7 years to 1 Super Bowl in 9 years...Yeah, I think that speaks for itself...

take away moss and 11 games 9 wins, 218 for 326, 66.9% comp perc.,2387 yds, 23 tds, and his rating would be 106.5 better than avg. but hes still overated!

Speaking of dictionaries, it's "overrated".

He plays for a great team and a great, great coach and strategist. Sorry, that's all I've got and it's not very convincing.

His history speaks for itself.

But this year he is overrated because noone's seen him lose to the Packers yet.
