Be thankful that you are in a relationship. It's so hard to find someone in todays world. Just be happy you have someone who loves you. Please don't ruin it.

there are probably a million people like you. I was like this in my 20s, too. then I met the guy who became my husband - we've been married almost 20 fantastic years.
where are your balances in life? If you're too much into this relationship, of course you're going to feel insecure. Do you have hobbies, activities, friends to help you get through the "lonely" month you're going to have? If not, get interested in something other than this guy, and you'll have something "to do" and be involved in and won't feel so lonely or insecure.
It's always much easier to break away from an unhealthy, uninteresting, or boring person, habit, job, whatever if your life is more balanced.
good luck!

I was too insecure to be on my own, because my bf was helping me pay my rent, and I don't know if I can keep up without his help, but I got so sick of being stood up every holiday and every weekend, that I told him it was over. I was afraid he might get in the way in case I met someone else. I didn't want him popping up unexpectedly. There was no future in our relationship. I had been dating him on and off for 12 years, and I just couldn't take it anymore. Twelve years of being stood up was heart-breaking. It's a lot less hassle and trouble to be without him. I'll survive somehow.

Just leave, you are wasting your time with someone you see no future in. You cant find anyone else while devoting time to something that is lost. Take a little risk on your own and the reward will be great. Freedom, my friend. Just do it.

Oh honey, you're not alone. Someone wrote a book several years ago: "Smart Women, Foolish Choices." You might want to give it a read - meantime, just keep reminding yourself of what a good person you are, and be good to yourself. If YOU aren't good to yourself, you can't expect anyone else to be - they'll figure if you don't think you deserve the best, why should they?

And the right person WILL come along - be patient.

I stayed in a relationship that wasn't working, and the main reason was I kept clinging on. It wasn't fair on either of us. We finally split up, and although it was hard at first, but we've both moved on and are good friends now. It's normal to feel insecure about finding another partner, but its wrong to let fear rule your life.
