Alchemy is a precursor to both physics and chemistry. It's primary goal was to create gold from base metals, like lead. [See source.]

Interestingly, Archimedes discovered the principles of buoyancy and floatation while dabbling in the gold making business. He was trying to find out how one could tell if an object was solid gold or lead covered with gold leaf without scratching the object.

I would suggest projectile motion. We have been throwing rocks, spears & arrows since long before the written word. For that time, there has always been a master armor in every society who could train the children how to throw. He/she had to have an intrinsic understanding of the projectile's arc, which is practiced by the apprentice hunters and fighters.
It might not seem like physics to you, but if you were to investigate modern artillery training, you would find an exhaustive training content on projectile arc - it is still considered a science.
