I would probably like a Marcos who can lead the country with an iron hand and brilliant to make Philippines ahead of it's counterparts in terms of economy, education and so on.., minus the greed and corruption that ended with people unsatisfied and the constant need to eliminate his protesters..

Perhaps some of the younger generation in the Filipinos are; as well as some of the older generation too! The reason: Ferdinand actually DID get some things done! Albeit through a great show of force and intimidation.

I have this deep hatred of the Marcos family for confiscating my grandparent's land in Cavite.
I feel disgusted whenever I see images of Ferdinand and his butt-ugly rotting corpse of a wife Imelda on TV and in the papers.
I pity the people who wish they still ruled the Philippines.
People admire him for having the ability to get things done... this is something I can never quite comprehend. How hard it is to make people do something when you've got a gun pointed at their heads?
And what about those mindless sheep that keep bragging about how much he has done during his presidency? Ignorant fools. Marcos ruled the Philippines in a dictatorship fashion, had the military by the balls and treated the country's funds as if it was his own piggy bank... of course this would leave some kind of mark on the country's infrastructure after he left. After two decades, how much did people expect him to accomplish?
Although the presidents after Marcos were all corrupt as well, they would be like cookie jar stealing toddlers compared to the Marcos family.

i don't think that we need a president like marcos again. It is a given fact that the person is very intelligent and that he really made the Philippines known around the Globe. In fact it was in his time that the Philippines is regarded as second to Japan. But, it was also in his time and his administration when corruption is very much prevalent and tolerated. Much damage has been done and we need not experience oppression again to be enlightned. A Marcos is enough and it is of my great wish that the Filipino people (living during that regime and those who are able to understand history) learn from that time....
We all should move on and do the best for our country...

Of course he was a great president.. Only few people give significance to the improvements he has done as a president. They always focus on the wrong things he has done. In a time like this, where trust is already unstable with the government and the people, I think it is necessary to have a president like him. I hope that this president will not commit the mistakes Ferdinand Marcos has done. May peace be upon him.

Anyone who thinks Ferdinand Marcos was great must have some loose screws in the head. He was responsible for the Philippines' downfall (when he first sat in power, the Phil peso compared to US dollar was 2 : 1)
He was great at being corrupt and violating human rights.

Yes, Ferdinand Marcos was and is great... but i doubt another Marcos can evolve in this country as we have been exhausting the word "FREEDOM" and i don't think there are signs of mellowing it down... Gloria is in power, and a lot has been trying to bring her down. A lot of warnings and cautions has been sent to her but she is invincible, as of the moment. But the moment she has controversies as grave as Erap's, she will surely be forced to step down...
Ferdinand Marcos will not have another chance in this country... I don't think so...

From the conversations I have had with my Filipino friends.....They have no illusions about Marcos being a "nice" guy....... what they miss is his ability to get things done.
Many are frustrated trying to bring about positive change through existing channels. It is almost impossible to bring about change when those that have the "power".....do not want that change.
Even when you elect a "Prince" ; he / she goes to Manila and changes into a frog.....and no amount of kissing will change them back.

No. We don't need another FM to run the country. Marcos is a great leader but he abused it. What we need right now is moral revolution.
