1. Halloween (the original)
2. Halloween 2
3. Texas Chainsaw Massacre (the original)
4. Hostel
I can't think of a fifth.

I like those movies because the way the were done. The first 2 Halloweens had everything a horror movie is supposed to have. All of the movies are somewhat belivable, I think thats what makes them so scary. They are not over the top with things that could never happen.

1. Texas Chainsaw Massacre (w/ Jessica Beil)-This is definitely the scariest movie I have ever seen
2. Friday the 13th Part 2-Love this one because the first one is just explaining what happened to Jason. This one is great because he doesn't even have his mask yet so he uses a rice sack (or something) to cover his bloody deformed face and it will make you jump...a lot.
3. The Descent-better than I expected. But it scared the crap out of me.
4. Wrong Turn-Nothing scarier than inbred redneck cannibals who are fast and want to gut you and your friends and then eat you!!!!
5.It's a tie between Gothika and High tension. Both kind of similar but one is more gory and the other has more suspense

a million. Halloween (the unique) 2. Halloween 2 3. Texas Chainsaw bloodbath (the unique) 4. Hostel i am going to't imagine of a fifth. i love those videos because the way the were achieved. the first 2 Halloweens had each little thing a horror action picture is meant to have. each of the films are truly belivable, i imagine thats what makes them so frightening. they don't look severe with issues which couldn't in any respect ensue.

In no particular order...

Carrie (touching yet dark and has alot of reality in it)

A Deadly Friend (not popular but good Wes Craven movie. Kind of like Frankenstein/Re-Animator/Short Circuit)

The Visitor (It's like if Carrie were evil, it's atmospheric, very good late 70s not-so-well-known classic)

Suspiria (It's a classic stylistic, atmospheric, visual movie from Dario Agento.)

The Beyond (It has that great dream (or nightmare) like ambiance to it. It's in the acting, settings and cinematography. It's a surreal and macabre classic Lucio Fulci film.)

For a list of newer movies...

Jeepers Creepers (One of the few movies from the 2000s that was scary)

Rise (I liked it. It was well acted by Lucy Liu and had good cast, Carla Gugino, Rachel Leigh Cook and more. Also it was a lttle different imo)

Underworld (Vampires, Werewolves, Celine, leather, darkness, interesting story, well written and acted)

May (unique, interesting misfit movie and Angela Bettis is amazing as usual)

Feast (It's a little like From Dusk till Dawn/Night of the Living Dead and Clue Gulager is in it!)

Pet Sematary - absolutely horrifies me
Joy Ride - It's more a suspense, but I love it!
The Saw movies - I like how they aren't so unrealistic, like supernatural forces, they're something that could kind of actually happen, so it's more scary that way

That's kind of it for the horror, nobody will watch them with me and I'm too much of a chicken to watch them alone :P
