Benadryl is diphenhydramine hydrochloride. It's exactly the same stuff as Nytol and Sominex (sleep aids). As long as you are taking plain Benadryl, not the kind with decongestants etc in it, it can be used as a sleep aid.

Follow the package directions.

If you need to use it for more than a few days, see your doctor, it's not recommended for long-term use.

Best of luck.

It's generally not a good idea. Benadryl is not intended as a sleep medication.

For so long as it's serving to you, I do not consider there's damage in taking it every time you wish to have it, however I might propose that you just seek advice with an allergist to uncover out the motive so that you would be dealt with effectively. Good good fortune.

Not really. It's used in other sleep aids and some doctors recommend it to aid sleep. Some people use it everyday for allergies.

Only if you overdose. It is, by nature, a sedative and is commonly used as a sleep aid. Basically you should be fine as long as you don't take too much.
