I enjoy lengthy political and philosophical discussions with my best friend who's a conservative/libertarian while I myself am more liberal. As long as a meaningful dialogue can be maintained where both parties respect each other and are willing to listen to one another there is no reason to hate a person just because your views differ. Unfortuately it's much easier for "political" discussions to degenerate into meaningless name call matches online with than with personal contacts or even strangers in real life.

Why despise anyone over political views. Life is just too short for all that. It's all abused. It's all corrupt. It's all basically a bunch of BS anyway. Feeling so strongly about some political views puts you in that group known as.....oh yeah...the get a life group!

I despise the ignorant ones. But then again, I despise the ignorant people in my own party too. Politics does not create a person, but it can create a monster.

I despise people who who talk about political beliefs. There are facts and votes need to be based on facts, not beliefs. Id your friends get mad at you tell them the facts and if thier arguement states more beneficial facts then you should convert and vice versa.

I don't hate them, but I can get annoyed at how small minded they can be. I am more of a government hands off our daily lives kind of girl & can't comprehend why someone wants the government telling them what to do all the time.
So rather conservative but at the same time someone who doesn't think our rights need to be taken away 'for the greater good'.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion & I will listen to them but I don't have to accept them as my own. And vice versa.

No, that's the beauty of our democracy; you can disagree with a person's political views and still be friends with them. In other parts of the world, the same situation would not be permissible.

I'm open to being friends with anyone who's sincere and well-intentioned. I accept that it's possible to be a conservative and still be worth knowing, and if we really can't get along on a certain point then we simply agree to disagree and move on.

I don't hate them, but I do hate it when they try to force their beliefs on me instead of working out a mutually agreeable term.

I dont hate them, I love good spirited debates. What I do hate about that is, if one of my friends makes a good point, I recognize it as such. I hate it when they get so worked up trying to prove my point is so horribly wrong.
