While on probation if I had it excused by a doctor? I've been sick ever since Saturday. My mom said she would make an appointment with a doctor tomorrow on Monday if I am not doing any better. The thing is that I am on probation for truancy. So I was wondering would I get in trouble if I missed but still had a excuse from a doctor?

just go. it would show how hard your trying. and if you cant last the hole day tell the nurse and if its okay, ask your mom to pick you up.

You are looking to use a doctor to manipulate the probation officer. Unless you were contagious, you should have gone to school anyway. That's what responsible adults do, even the ones with paid sick time.

Secondly, why does your mother have to make the doctor's appointment for you? Are you unable to go to school because you have ten broken fingers and can't call the doctor yourself?

I ought not to be sound so harsh and scolding, but it is so clear that you have so much to learn about taking responsibility for yourself. Some of the previous answerers encourage you to hold your mother's hand and get her to do this and that and the other, but I'm not going to do that. You need to grow up, and act like an adult. Try it--it's habit-forming.

First and foremost, have your mother call both the school and the PO to let them know you are ill and will be missing school and that a doctors note will accompany your return.

Second, and secondmost - DONT FORGET THE DOCTORS NOTE. its easy to forget when they are poking and proding you... but its REALLY important that you dont forget.

I hope you feel better, dont let this stress you out (stress hinders the healing process). Try and set up a plan for you to get your assignments in your absense. This shows your PO that you really are trying to be better, and that you dont want to get into anymore trouble.

You might, you might not... Rule #1 in ALL cases when on probation........ Ask your PO !!!

He has very, very wide discretion on whethe ror not to consider something a violation.
