"She who twades karma for stars kweates kwestionable karma for self."

much later: An interesting aside for Seline: "Freedom's just another word for nothin' left to lose." Bobby McGee was written by Kris Kristofferson (Joplin's drinking buddy) and Fred Foster. It was originally recorded by Roger Miller (1969, I think). It was released (posthumously) by Janis' in 1971 and was her only #1 hit.

While it's not my absolute favorite, it's one of my favorites to share.

"Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water my friend". - Bruce Lee

[Edit] Bruce Lee was a devout student of Philosophy and had an extensive collection of texts on the subject. I find it sad that most people will only remember him for his physical skills and not the wise man that he was.

Lordy, a nice selection of quotes but Imagine's made me slap my knee! My all time favorite is:

The following is, interestingly and in a sense, an answer to any other quote, besides being my favourite. It is attributed to Voltaire, the French writer and philosopher.

I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

A person's success is measured not in the things he attains but in the obstacles he overcomes to attain them.

That is not verbatim and I don't recall who said it. But there it is.
