I promise this is good advice. If you are having pop-ups even on "innocent sites" then you have spy-ware/ virus activity on your computer. Firefox is definitely less susceptible than Internet explorer but if your computer is infected installing Firefox won't necessarily remove the infection unless it is limited to Internet Explorer. A pop-up blocker in most cases is a band-aid and only masked the problem. Run some free Antivirus/Antispyware programs and see what happens first and report back.
For Antivirus AVG is good just google it, for antispyware AVG also has a good product but I like superantispyware. By all means don't install anything that claims to remove spyware unless someone knowledgable reccomends it as there are many antispyware programs that are the worst spyware you can have...winantispyware...etc.
This is very easy to fix but can be time consuming, riun the two I recommended, follow the sotware's recommendation and post back for more help if you need it.

I do not understand what your problem is. I have Norton and I never get popups. You should have a popup blocker with Norton. Turn your pop up blocker on.

make sure your Norton is updated...if it is not, pay for an upgrade..usually about $29.00. You can also go to downloads.com....they usually have some free anti-virus software that you can download and run from your computer.

ok, on the bar, there's somewhat icon that shows a image of it appears that evidently like a reveal reveal screen with a glance after in front of it. there is an arrow on the suited component and in case you click on it and flow to the place it says "enable pop up blocker" (in korean i assume, in spite of the fact that this is going to be the 1st one on the record) there's a checkmark with the help of it. in basic terms click on it and make certain the checkmark is going away and that could desire to enable pop ups
