I assume you're reading something that has sort of old-fashioned language, right?

They want you to write their conversation over, but using modern English.

It sounds as if you've been reading a Shakespeare play. You're being asked to paraphrase a passage into contemporary language.

I'm guessing it's maybe Shakespeare? So, instead of "What light through yonder window breaks? It is the East, and Juliet is the sun!" you get, "What kind of light is that coming at me through the window? It is the sunrise, and Juliet is like the sun!" Or something like that...

replace things like "thy" and "colour" with todays spellings is my guess.
